Simply Saadani Camp

Simply Saadani Camp

Saadani National Park, Tanzania

This perfectly located authentic camp blends effortlessly into the natural environment. With just nine beautiful tented rooms, all with sea view and raised up high on large wooden platforms, it feels like you are on your very own desert island
The camp has its own wildlife research centre doing elephant conservation work. The camp also lectures about wildlife, especially elephant and green turtle. Here you can do short canoe safaris in the mangrove forest and trek on the nature trails that are especially rich on birdlife. The nearby turtle sanctuary which that camp supports is another wonderful element to this little gem. If you visit Simply Saadani Camp between July and September you may see turtles hatching on the beach.

The tents

All of the tree-house style tents face the Indian ocean and stand on raised wooden platforms with big private verandas. The tents has canvas walls and roof with wooden doors so it feels like a semi house but still as being bare in the nature. The bathrooms are made from coconut trees knocked down by elephants on the plot. Each room has solar powered lights and hot water. The honeymoon suite has a sunken bath sat deep in the mangroves.

The camp consists of one honeymoon suite; two bandas suitable for families of up to five people; and six other twin sized rooms.

The bar is overlooking the Indian Ocean, the perfect place for a sundowner cocktail after your safari. Sometimes cheeky Vervet monkeys cute bush babies visit the bar at night.
The tasty food is prepared by local chefs from locally sourced produce. The Beachside Restaurant stunning Indian Ocean views and is a perfect place for stargazing
